History
The Alliance of Credit Unions was originally formed in 1967
as the League of IBM Employee Credit Unions (LICU). Our mission
was to provide IBM credit unions with educational resources
and joint venture opportunities, such as the LICU Pension Trust.
In 1995, we expanded our field of membership to include non-IBM credit unions, changing our name to LICU+. In 2005, we became the Alliance of Credit Unions in order to more accurately represent all of our progressive members and to further define our new mission and direction.
New ACU Mission
The Alliance of Credit Unions is dedicated to providing a
working forum for the exchange of leading edge ideas and solutions
for credit union issues, and the creation and development
of educational programs and joint venture opportunities for
our member credit unions.
